Glensheen Mansion
Glensheen, the Historic Congdon Estate, is a 39-room Jacobean Revival mansion completed in 1908 on the shores of Lake Superior, built for Chester Congdon and his family and now operated by the University of Minnesota Duluth. The estate spans 12 acres and includes formal gardens, a boathouse, and a carriage house, and it draws visitors year-round for guided tours, seasonal events, and private bookings. Group tours are available and highly recommended for charter bus groups — contact Glensheen's events team in advance to coordinate your visit.
Glensheen publishes free onsite parking for tour and event visitors, while group tours request two weeks' notice and a minimum of ten people, so settle those details before the group arrives. Confirm current tour availability and group booking details directly with the estate before your trip.
